The Austrian AWEPA Section in Parliament has a membership of currently more than 80 members, which consists of active but also former MPs of the Austrian Parliament. Hon. Petra Bayr functions as Chairperson of the Austrian AWEPA-Section; her deputies are Hon. Franz Glaser and Hon. Judith Schwentner.

Honorary Chairpersons of the Austrian AWEPA section are the President of the National Council, Hon. Barbara Prammer, II. President of the National Council, Hon. Fritz Neugebauer, and Hon. Eva Glawischnig.

A strong and active AWEPA-Section within the Austrian Parliament is important for establishing a long-lasting and sustainable partnership with African Parliaments in general and with the Mozambican Parliament in particular. Through the MPs activities and their participation at international AWEPA conferences it is possible to strategically further the European-African Dialogue. The success of the inter-parliamentary partnership between Austria and Mozambique as well as of a political and technical cooperation between these two institutions crucially depends on a committed AWEPA-Section within the Austrian Parliament.
